We recently caught up with our very own Dave Brown ’86 and had the chance to ask him about his FIJI experience, and where life since Purdue has taken him. Here’s what he had to say:
Where has life taken you since you graduated? Give us a brief recap up to this point including career and family highlights.
After graduating in 1986 I went to Indiana University where I got my law degree and a masters in environmental science. After graduating from IU I had a 1 year judicial clerkship in Los Angeles. I then worked for a firm in Cleveland for about 5 years doing environmental law. In 1996 I returned home to Morton Illinois and practiced law. In 2011 I was appointed as an associate circuit judge and I have served as a trial judge since then. My wife and I have twin boys who are seniors in college – 1 is a FIJI at Iowa State.
What are the most important lessons you learned because of Phi Gamma Delta ?
The most important lesson I learned was Persistence.
When you look back on your time in Phi Gamma Delta , what moments do you tend to remember most?
I remember the fun times at the house with the brothers. Those were some great times sitting on the front porch, floor parties, the brotherhood committee and the list goes on.
